About the collection

During my thirty years in the wine business my special interest in the depiction of all things to do with wine has led me to collect prints, drawings and engravings throughout my travels in Europe and the United States. Curiosity and observation are useful attributes in hunting down some of the more elusive material, and indeed some have turned up in very unusual places.

This magpie-like approach to collecting has not of itself been my sole aim. I have always sought to share my collection and the pleasure I derive from it with others by loaning and sometimes selling material to anyone wanting to use the objects in question. Up to now this has been a low-key activity, but now the new website will, I hope, allow the collection to be accessed by a wider audience.
